Request Event Support

The Media Center provides audiovisual equipment, student technician support, videotaping, and duplication services for on-campus, college-sponsored events.

Submit A Request

To submit a request for event support, please schedule your event or meeting in EMS at least two weeks before the scheduled event and include all of your audiovisual needs. The person listed as the primary contact for your event should plan to be in attendance and able to respond to requests for additional information or clarification. If possible, please list only one primary contact.

Please enter the exact event start and end time in EMS. You do not need to add extra time for audiovisual set-up and tear down. Media Center staff will review your request and ensure sufficient time for pre-event preparations.

If you are hosting a speaker or performer outside of the College community, please review contracts before signing and ask the speaker or performer to sign a media consent form if video or audio from their event is to be recorded. If the speaker requires specific audiovisual support, please consult with Ken O’Connell, AV Media Specialist & Event Coordinator, before signing the contract.

Support

The Media Center will assign one technician to support an event for a maximum of 5-6 hours of work. If your event will require more than 6 consecutive hours of tech support, please consider hiring an outside contractor.

Unfortunately, the Media Center cannot provide any lighting equipment for events.

Questions?

If you have questions regarding audiovisual needs for your event, please contact Ken O’Connell, AV Media Specialist & Event Coordinator, at 240-895-4269 or kmoconnell@smcm.edu.
