The Media Center administers the cable programming provided in all St. Mary’s student resident halls and in buildings across campus.
CRT Televisions and VCRs
These analog devices are NOT able to receive digital TV channels. If you would like to continue to use an old CRT television, you will need to purchase a digital QAM tuner.
Flat Screen Televisions with Digital QAM Tuners
These devices will need to be auto-programmed or auto-tuned. Please be sure the cable between the wall and the TV is secure at both ends and that the TV’s Input or Source is selected for “TV” or “Cable.” You must then activate your television’s menu by navigating to the “Settings” or “Channels” section. Ensure that your TV scans “Cable” and/or “Digital.” Including an analog or antenna scan will not disrupt this process.
Television Channels
All channels contain a channel number, then a dot (or dash), followed by a single digit. Several foreign language and special channels will be found in the 3.x and 4.x range, the complete channel lineup guide will be found in the 54.x and 55.x range, and regular programming will be found at 56.1 and above. While Dish Network still provides the campus with several channels, our primary satellite provider is now DirecTV. By decision of the SGA, all channels are currently in Standard Definition.
