Instruction Requests

The Media Production Lab and staff serve as resources for St. Mary’s student, faculty and staff members who want to learn and explore the foundations of recording and editing video, audio and photography. We offer one-on-one teaching sessions on the use of professional grade software for all your media based projects, including:

  • Final Cut Pro
  • Adobe Suite
  • Logic Pro

Email Rachel Cardwell, Digital Media Specialist, at recardwell@smcm.edu to set up an instruction appointment.

Media Production Requests

All media production requests require at least 2 weeks notice. For standard video capture requests, please submit your requirements through EMS and contact Ken O’Connell (kmoconnell@smcm.edu) for assistance.

Special productions may be requested, should they meet certain standards such as:

  • high level sensitivity
  • high profile events
  • complex presentations or performances

Email Rachel Cardwell, Digital Media Specialist, at recardwell@smcm.edu at least 2 weeks prior to schedule a consultation.

Media Conversion Requests

You may bring analog or other media to the Media Center to be digitized, provided this does not infringe on copyright restrictions. Common formats include vinyl, cassette, VHS, Hi 8 and DV tape. Please provide the Media Center with physical media (such as CD or DVD) if you do not wish to access the transfer via digital file (such as Google Drive).
