Welcome Back! Spring Semester Hours at the Library

Library Hours 

  • Sunday: Noon – 10:00 p.m.
  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: Noon – 5:00 p.m.

Archives Hours

  • The Archives will be available by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please email archives@smcm.edu.

We look forward to supporting your research, studying, and library needs throughout the semester. Remember, if you ever need assistance outside of these times, our Ask Us service is available to help.

Finals Week Library Hours

Sunday, December 14: 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Monday, December 15 – Wednesday, December 17: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
Thursday, December 18: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
Friday, December 19: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Library is closed December 20 – January 2, 2025 for Winter Break.

Winter Session Hours Beginning January 3, 2026

Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday: Closed

The Library will resume normal operating hours on January 19, 2026.

Thanksgiving Break Library Hours

Autumn leaves blowing in the windAs the holiday season approaches, the Library will have adjusted hours over Thanksgiving Break. We hope you enjoy a restful few days and find time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

Library Hours for Thanksgiving Week

  • Sunday, Nov. 23: Open regular hours

  • Monday, Nov. 24: Open regular hours

  • Tuesday, Nov. 25: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closing early)

  • Wednesday, Nov. 26 to Saturday, Nov. 29: Closed for Thanksgiving Break

  • Sunday, Nov. 30: Open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. (opening late)

 If you need help while we are closed, our Ask Us service is always available to support you. Enjoy the break!

Library Closed for Memorial Day – May 26

In observance of Memorial Day, the Library will be closed on Monday, May 26.

Regular summer hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27.

While we’re closed, don’t forget that many of our online resources are available 24/7 through our website.

Library Closed for SMCM Staff Picnic – May 16

The library will close at 12:00pm on Friday, May 16 so that our staff can attend the annual St. Mary’s College of Maryland Staff Picnic.

Summer Hours at the Library

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: Closed
