Finals Week Library Hours

Sunday, December 14: 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Monday, December 15 – Wednesday, December 17: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
Thursday, December 18: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
Friday, December 19: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Library Hours December 20 – December 23, 2025

Saturday – Sunday: Closed
Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Library is closed December 24 – January 1, 2025 for Winter Break.

Winter Session Hours Beginning January 2, 2026

Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday: Closed

Thanksgiving Break Library Hours

Autumn leaves blowing in the windAs the holiday season approaches, the Library will have adjusted hours over Thanksgiving Break. We hope you enjoy a restful few days and find time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

Library Hours for Thanksgiving Week

  • Sunday, Nov. 23: Open regular hours

  • Monday, Nov. 24: Open regular hours

  • Tuesday, Nov. 25: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closing early)

  • Wednesday, Nov. 26 to Saturday, Nov. 29: Closed for Thanksgiving Break

  • Sunday, Nov. 30: Open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. (opening late)

 If you need help while we are closed, our Ask Us service is always available to support you. Enjoy the break!

“From Twilight to Sunshine” – LGBTQIA+ History Event

“From Twilight to Sunshine”

Presented by the Enoch Pratt Library: Explore Maryland’s Journey of LGBTQIA+ visibility, from hidden communities in the 19th century to the rise of activist movements in the 1970s. Light refreshments catered by Bon Appetit.

Location: Hilda C. Landers Library – Room 321 – located on the 3rd floor. Elevators on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor.

This event is co-sponsored by the Hilda C. Landers Library & Archives, the Multicultural Programs Office, and the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement. The event is free and open to the public.

Welcome Back! Fall Semester Hours at the Library

Library Hours 

  • Sunday: Noon – 10:00 p.m.
  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: Noon – 5:00 p.m.

Archives Hours

  • The archives will be available by appointment. Please contact Shane Moran, smmoran1@smcm.edu, to set up an appointment.

Welcome Shane Moran!

Shane will be working to preserve and document St. Mary’s history, making our Archives accessible to the campus community and beyond, and providing primary source and information literacy instruction. They will also serve as the library liaison for the History and Museum Studies programs.

Shane grew up right outside of Philadelphia. He received his Master of Arts in History from Millersville University, and his Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Drexel University. In their free time, Shane enjoys reading fantasy novels, playing video games, and bookbinding. 

Shane joined the Library & Archives in July 2025.

Welcome Elisia Lewis!

Elisia is a recent graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland where she earned her Bachelor’s in History. While at SMCM, she worked as a Library Student Circulation Assistant, Career Mentor, and Program Student Ambassador for AADS. In her spare time, she enjoys reading cozy mysteries, bookbinding, and connecting with the local community at fun events! 

Elisia joined the Library & Archives in August 2025.
